Scheduling Automated Syncs

Created by Stacey Kim, Modified on Tue, 17 Feb at 11:23 PM by Stacey Kim

Once you've created a sync profile, you can set it to run automatically on a schedule. Alterify will fetch your data source, match products, and apply updates — no manual action needed.

Note: Scheduling is available on paid plans only. If you're on the Free plan, you'll see a prompt to upgrade when you open the schedule settings. You can still run syncs manually on any plan.

How to Set Up a Schedule

  1. Find the profile you want to schedule on your dashboard.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Start button.
  3. Select Set Schedule.
  4. Toggle Enable Schedule on.
  5. Configure your schedule (see settings below).
  6. Click Save.

Run every (hours)How often the sync runs. Minimum depends on your plan (e.g., every 1 hour on Grow, every 6 hours on Seed). Maximum is 24 hours.
Starting timeThe time of day the first sync runs, in 24-hour format (e.g., 07:00). Subsequent syncs repeat at the interval you set.
Run on these daysChoose which days of the week the schedule is active. Defaults to every day (Monday–Sunday).

All times are based on your store's timezone, which is automatically detected from your BigCommerce settings. The current timezone is shown below the schedule form.

Schedule Frequency by Plan

PlanMinimum Frequency
FreeScheduling not available (manual only)
Seed ($5/mo)Every 12 hours
Grow ($19/mo)Every 1 hour
Scale ($49/mo)Every 1 hour

Example

Your supplier updates their inventory file every morning at 6 AM. You want your BigCommerce store to reflect those changes by 7 AM.

  • Run every: 24 hours
  • Starting time: 07:00
  • Run on these days: Monday–Friday

Alterify will fetch the file and sync your store every weekday at 7 AM in your store's timezone.

Tips

  • Use different start times for each profile. If you have multiple profiles, stagger their start times to avoid running them simultaneously.
  • You can still run manual syncs. A scheduled profile can also be triggered manually anytime by clicking Start.
  • Pausing is easy. Toggle Enable Schedule off to pause. Your settings are saved and can be re-enabled at any time.
  • Schedules only run for active profiles. If a profile is disabled (e.g., due to a plan downgrade), its schedule won't run until the profile is re-enabled.
